OOTD: DIY distressed jeans and faux-suede heels
Spring is officially here and I couldn't be more excited! I actually cannot choose one season to love (even though Fall is pretty up there) because I look forward to every single season! This season is all about distressed jeans with a cute pair of heels. The best thing about distressed jeans is that you can make them yourself for absolutely NOTHING! There are so many YouTube tutorials on this art but I will still post an entry on a step-by-step tutorial for those of you who like to read ;).
I pretty much already had every single item that I am wearing except for the shoes. I bought the shoes at Sears over spring break for only $20. They are a simple, faux-suede style that are comfortable and provide an effortless vibe to my outfit. Starting from the top: I am wearing a plain black cami from Hollister that was around $10 and I threw on an old scarf that I've had for ages from Burlington Coat Factory that was also around $10 (I think). My lovely coat was a great steal that I got from Charlotte Russe about a year ago for only $15. I got it around February when the stores heavily reduce their prices on their leftover Fall and Winter pieces. And the stars of the show (my jeans) were a DIY project that I worked on for about a week until I was pleased with them.
All in all, this outfit cost me nothing except for my bargain pumps. It is always so good to invest in items (such as a cute coat or shoes) to pull your outfits together and create looks that are both creative and stylish all year round without burning a hole in your wallet! Happy styling!

OOTD: Eva Mendes Mariel jacket and Faux-Suede sandal
I am absolutely in love with this salmon colored blazer and statement sandal from the new Eva Mendes collection! Besides having the perfect color for Spring, this blazer fits beautifully and is incredibly comfortable. The inside is lined with a polyester that imitates the look and feel of silk; making it a super soft! The sandals are a platform style with a thick heel which makes them easy and comfortable to walk in. The faux-suede also makes them an ideal fashion statement for Spring!
I paired this blazer with a $10 chiffon top from Hollister and a $5 necklace from Forever 21. The belt is from New York and Company (I think it now retails for about $12) and the jeans are from Hollister ($25). The great thing about the Eva Mendes collection is that you never pay full price for anything because there is always a coupon that you can use. If you've been searching for a showstopping look, look no further!
